I need to upgrade this forum to reduce spams posted here. I expect to finish by this weekend. Forum will be readonly during upgrade.

Nice one :)

Been keeping an eye on the spam posts when I can (I've not had much time the last couple days due to arguing with a Linux server (I'm a glutton for punishment, hehe)).

Conversion in progress... 90% done...

Took me a day to fight with hosting company, because they set php timeout really short. The conversion program cannot finish within the time limit. I end up installing a local copy of Apache/php/mySql etc and converted the forum locally, then uploaded to hosting company. :)

Display styles still need some TLC. Should be done tomorrow.

Let's see if this version is any good at detering spam bots...

hehe nice one :)

But you've got a problem with the sub-title for "News & Announcements" (it's displaying the HTML code instead of the link)

The search option in the forum is badly broken. Try doing a search for "cleanup" two hits come back. There are considerably more than that in reality.

The search index was broken... The hosting company doesn't let the process run long enough to generate that @!#$%#@%@$# I might have to process it locally and upload again...

The old rss function won't work as it's done by a phpBB 2.0 hack. I'm still looking for a solution for phpBB 3.0. Anyone has recommendations?

Not so much...

The following words in your search query were ignored because they are too common words: cleanup.
You must specify at least one word to search for. Each word must consist of at least 3 characters and must not contain more than 14 characters excluding wildcards.

Gary

P.S. What is the status of the Cleanup bug that causes old items to become new again. I subscribe to about 40 feeds well over two thirds of them wind up repeating many items as "new" after a cleanup.

Any news for the new version of GreatNews? It hasn't been updated for several months.
